Create an instrument

You have two choices when choosing an instrument to be used in your course.

1. SALG instruments — these instruments are to be used in the middle or at the end of the term
2. Baseline instruments — these instruments are to be used at the beginning of a term

Select an instrument

You can also search for instruments others have created, and use one of those instruments as a starting point when customizing an instrument to your particular course.

Upload student data

1. Create an Excel or CSV file with data about students in your department
2. One column must be an email address
3. Other columns can contain any other non-identifying data
4. The first non-empty row must be a header with the column names
5. Use the file upload fields on the form to select your file
6. If your file is CSV, specify whether it uses commas, semi-colons, tabs, etc. to distinguish the fields
7. Press the "Upload" button

Manage a Department

Department heads should do the following:

1. Supply an email address so "Forgot my password" will work
2. Provide a list of faculty emails
3. Delegate instrument creation or analysis jobs
4. Create a department template and/or instrument for the faculty to use
5. Encourage faculty to use department templates/instruments
6. Analyze the results of department questions

Manage department faculty

Each department may include a list of current faculty, identified by email address. When an instructor signs into the website with an email address on the list, they gain access to any templates or instruments endorsed by the department.
